Our Misson

One of the largest growing criminal industries is human trafficking with the United States as the top purchaser in the business. Our mission is to prevent kidnappings, rapes, groomings, and other forms of persuasion by teaching self-defense techniques.

Our mission at Warrior Protection Association is to prevent human trafficking through comprehensive self-defense training and education.

We equip individuals with the skills to recognize and respond to the signs of human trafficking and empower those who have been exploited or abused by teaching them how to protect themselves against their abusers.

Additionally, we educate children and parents on the importance of online safety to prevent grooming and online attacks. Through our programs, we aim to create safer communities and empower individuals to live free from fear and exploitation.

Our staff are professionals within the space and are committed to making a difference in the world around them.

I am Katie Fudella. I come from a military family. I was born in Fairbanks Alaska and settled in West Point, Virginia. Upon graduating from Lafayette High School and later from Ferrum College, with a degree in Health Science. While at Ferrum College, I was a member of KAS Sorority where we took an active part in addressing social issues. Upon graduation, I returned back to the Williamsburg area.

I was fortunate to be a member of WPA and become an active member. This has allowed me to continue to bring awareness and help to put a stop to trafficking. I am a Certified Pharmacy Technician, have a background in American Sign Language, and Counseling.

This allows me to continue to make people aware of the magnitude of trafficking not only national but also here in Williamsburg, Virginia

Onboarding/Screening/Training Stephanie Rusnak

My name is Stephanie, I have been passionate towards the fight against sex trafficking since first volunteering with the Rescue Project as a teen in Phoenix Arizona. I than became an Ambassador for Streetlight USA, educating high risk individuals on trafficking.

My life took a turn when I went to Pattaya, Thailand, where I volunteered with Tamar Center working with the girls in the bars, teaching them self-defense to better protect themselves and provide empowerment. I am currently working on my Masters in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on trauma. I am proud to be a volunteer coordinator with the Warrior Protection Association. It’s here where I handle recruiting and training new volunteers, connect them to opportunities within the organization that suit their skills, and conveying the organizations mission statement.

In addition, I organize events that will better serve and empower women and children in the fight against DV and Human Trafficking. The Warrior Protection Association is built on the mission of providing the necessary tools for women and children to protect themselves from predators through proper self-defense and self-awareness techniques.

Zurwan Purveyor

Research and Event Coordinator

Researcher Zurwan Purveyor

My name is Zurwan Purveyor and I’m the Warrior Protection Association’s Head Researcher. I seek out and document relevant information, statistics, and Grants. I then organize for our nonprofit’s use. Tasks I’ve accomplished in the past range from seeking government aid in creating PowerPoint and info graphs, as well as finding the ideal location for our organization’s events. I’ve always been passionate about doing something that empowers others and helping in keeping people safe.

WPA helps give people the skills and tools they need to feel safe and secure in their environment through self-defense and self-awareness. I, as well as the others, at WPA, come together to work towards a world where Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence doesn’t exist, to build a community where no one needs to constantly look over their shoulder when walking home at night, where we don’t need to worry about if our loved ones will get home or not.

I don’t want anyone to have to worry about whether their kids will be the next victim of a kidnapping, or whether their loved one will be assaulted. I never want to have to worry about the safety of my family or friends and will do anything to keep them safe. So, I work hard alongside all my other teammates as we strive to make our world a safer place one step at a time until we can make that dream a reality.
